se courses are designed for talented amateurs. All of these are paid for by those attending. - A few masterclasses, even one with the great man do not constitute "a formal opera training" by any stretch of the imagination. - Professional opera singers earn their living by treading the boards night a
fter night week-in week-out, year after year with professional opera companies. - Paul, has never earned a single penny from opera performance, other than winning a tv talent show in 1999 - the winnings funding masterclasses. - Paul has not performed since 2003. - He is not a professional opera sin

as you said Pavaratti studied opera his whole life but Paul used to be a mobile phone salesman who had a tough life, yet he managed to practise and sing so beautifully. I dont have musical knowledge nor do I know what opera is but I do know that Paul is a good singer.If he was alive today I am sur
e that Pavarotti too would have felt the same. 37 million cant be wrong...Paul rocks!!

Have you been to see Paul perform live this year, for a man just beginning, he is knocking on the door of those greats, who I doubt went in front of millions worldwide with his little training.
My choice is Paul Potts as well, because I too have seen him perform live since this audition, and to say there is so much professional training between them, difference is little. No, I have not musical studies as well, so I will go get them if you think it will make me like Pavarotti better. The 100 year remark, it remains to be seen if Pavarotti will be remembered then, there will be alot of very great singers come along betwwen now and then.

You say, this little bit of television history might do something for opera, yes, Paul has done more for opera this last year than most others. Most people have seen opera, live or on television, and it has never been that popular even though the big men have been doing it for centuries.
ÂŁ8,000 on Britains got Talent (Michael Barrymore) in 1999 whic he used to pay for vocal tuition in Italy and sang if front of Pavarotti (who must have been worried lol).
